fashion event: SALON/ - the winter edition (15th-30th of January 2011)

/////////////////////////////// |\/| \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Salon/ shows us the cultural side of fashion and art by presenting a cross-over experience through the city of Amsterdam. On several inspiring, unique locations Salon/ wants to instigate a discussion and dialogue between art+design+fashion, because these worlds are becoming one. But what is and what is not fashion, art or good design?

Like the formal sophisticated salons of the 19th century, this contemporary dynamic salon is again a place where the good taste and the fine arts are celebrated and under-stressed.
That said - yes, I really like the existence of Salon/ as you could have read in formal posts on Salon/ - Salon/ comes with its first winter-edition: "Winter Salon/
Again, in Amsterdam, special locations are curated and transformed in inspiration rooms full of fashion and design, always with an eye for young talents, new artists, and visionary concepts.

For example, the idyllic Huize Frankendael will be one of the five locations, a pitoresque country house, located on the borders of Amsterdam. Another static and historical location will be De Waag, on the Nieuwmarkt. Visit the Salon/ website (www.salon1.org) for other locations or read the - not so pretty - flyer.

More important than the locations, are its participants. Which Dutch designers, fashion artists and other inspiring projects can be seen?
